Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I book in?

Send an email at naomi@naomicoulterpsychology.com.au

Alternatively, you can use our online contact form . We see clients with and without a GP referral, however with a GP referral, you may be entitled to receive a medicare rebate depending on the plan you have. See information under New Referrals

How long are the appointments?

Standard consultations are 50 minutes in length. Some treatments may require a longer appointment length - in that case your Naomi will discuss with you the fee changes for longer appointments.

Do you provide psychological reports?

If you require a psychological report or letter for court, work, school or other purposes, this can be provided at an additional cost. The fee for psychological reports depends on the length of time and whether further assessments will be required. If you would like to know the fees for reports, please ask for the schedule of fees.

I have used up my medicare rebated sessions, now what?

You may be able to make a claim from your specific private health fund. Please make sure your private health fund covers you for ‘psychology’ and/or ‘counselling’ if you are hoping to access this.

I am nervous, what can I expect in my first session?

Seeing a psychologist for the first time can be a daunting experience. The first appointment is often a “getting to know you” session. There may be some paperwork, lots of chit chat to explore your family background, school/work and social life, physical, medical and emotional health, as well as your family background and questions about your current mental health symptoms and functioning.
